META | SYFY Network “Live Shopping” Innovation Launch
Partnering with NBCUniversal’s SYFY Network, I helped pioneer one of Facebook’s most forward-thinking experiments in commerce and entertainment: the first-ever Live Shopping capability on Facebook, which allowed viewers to scan a QR code and purchase items in real time while watching their favorite show.
This project demanded a unique blend of creative vision and technical precision. I brought together Meta’s Commerce and Engineering teams, NBCU’s digital commerce division, and SYFY’s leadership to build a seamless in-stream shopping experience from concept to launch. Acting as the strategic bridge between NBC executives and Meta’s product organization, I translated SYFY’s creative ambitions into actionable product requirements and aligned all stakeholders around clear business and performance goals.
The activation debuted to strong audience engagement and extensive industry recognition, receiving coverage from Variety and SYFY Wire for redefining interactive viewing. The campaign not only elevated NBCU’s position in the digital innovation space but also established Meta’s commerce capabilities as a viable new revenue stream for broadcasters—marking an early milestone in the convergence of entertainment and e-commerce.
